KLM Open Golf Betting Preview
Hilversumsche in Holland are once again hosting this year’s KLM Open golf tournament, and England’s own Simon Dyson will be fighting to keep the title he won on a birdie last year, at odds of 22/1 that he will be this year’s champion. The competition kicks off on Thursday with Nicolas Colsaerts currently favourite to win his tenth professional tournament at odds of 16/1.
There is a strong line-up this year with Ryder Cup players’ Martin Kaymer, Nicolas Colsaerts and Peter Hanson all in the top six players to watch this year, according to the current odds. The odds show Jamie Donaldson and David Lynn are joint second favourites with Kaymer and Hanson for a win, with last year’s winner, Dyson as sixth favourite.

Belgium’s Colsaerts is twelve ranks higher than Dyson and he holds a lower scoring average, and early bets can ensure good returns if he is to win this year’s KLM Open golf. Colsaerts is returning to this competition after a break from tournaments with an elbow injury after falling off a scooter. The now fully recovered Belgium contender tied in eighth place last year, and odds are 16/1 for a win from the 36th ranked player.
50th ranked Donaldson proved he is a worthy candidate after coming third in the Omega European Masters last week, his sixth top ten result of the season, and he is one to watch for the KLM Open golf. England will be rooting for this British boy, and odds are currently 20/1 for a win from him.
Hanson, Kaymer and Lynn are all at equal odds to Donaldson at 20/1 for a win for each of them, and it will be interesting to see how the odds change after the opening day on Thursday.
Another England favourite and last year’s KLM Open Golf champion, Dyson, is sixth favourite according to the odds, with 22/1 odds that he will get his fourth victory in this event.
Hilversumche is a historic course at just under 7,000 yards, and dates back to 1910 when the original nine holes were laid out. Harry Colt added another nine in 1928 really giving it an identity, and since then Sir Gary Campbell and Kyle Phillips have made further improvements. It isn’t a giant compared to modern standards, but it has several length par-fours that will really test those who aren’t on top form.
This Dutch Open was first contested in 1912, when Englishman George Pannell was crowned the champion, and England will be hoping for another home winner at the KLM Open Golf this year.
